Where you come in:
In this full-time maximum term position (through to December 2024), based in Mount Isa, you’ll work within a case management framework including and outreach model to families with children under 18 years old in their care requiring supports. Based in Mount Isa, you will work closely alongside external stakeholders to increase and prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children as part of our Family and Child Connect team.
You will make an impact by:
Supporting families with vulnerabilities who have children aged 0-18 years through supporting the parents/carer to connect with support services in their local community Ensuring the voices of children and young people are heard Increasing (as required) the family and community support networks of families to enable long term community support Building and maintaining strong networks and partnerships with relevant services to ensure effective referral pathways
Does this sound like you?
You’re an experienced practitioner who is passionate about supporting families within a child centred, strengths-based framework. Importantly, you have a strong understanding of the impact of trauma on children and their families and you’re keenly aware of the additional impacts and barriers experienced by Indigenous families.
This role requires:
Demonstrated experience in case management and knowledge of relevant legislation Demonstrated experience and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities and families Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or significant experience working in a similar role Strong teamwork and communication skills Knowledge and understanding of the stresses on vulnerable families and the range of family risk and protective factors which impact on child outcomes Current Drivers Licence
