Under the direct supervision of the Senior Field Operations Assistant (Site Management Support) and overall supervision of the Site Management Coordinator, the incumbent will assist the concerned programme unit with the following:
1. Organize field team activities aimed at promoting the participation in site level activities of all refugee community sub-groups, with a specific focus on those groups generally facing additional barriers such as women & girls as well as people with disabilities.
2. Support in designing a capacity building strategy for refugees living in designated collective sites.
3. Support in rolling out a community-based complaint and feedback mechanism at site level.
4. Keep up to date record of community groups, refugee governance structures, population representatives and other community leaders in the camp.
5. Assist in maintaining relationships between service providers, national authorities and the different refugee’s governance structures in designated collective sites.
6. In coordination with the Needs and Population Monitoring (NPM) and other relevant actors, support site level assessments and report challenges with service provision;
7. Assist in keeping abreast of all community’s governance issues in the sites and assist in anticipating constraints to project implementation and to work out solutions.
8. Remain well informed of the most up to date information related to the services provided by international and national humanitarian partners as well as relevant national authorities.
9. Attend relevant coordination meetings and clearly relay information to stakeholders on site management activities as instructed by the Senior Site Management Assistant. Prepare and share meeting minutes accordingly.
10. Ensure that noticeboards and other communication materials used at site level contain up-to-date information on services available and how to access them.
11. Control the quality of data collected by field assistant and ensure proper information management. Prepare preliminary analysis of the data and related activity reports.
12. Promote adherence to appropriate safety and security procedures related to the protection of IOM staff, its assets and operations. Promote awareness and compliance of all team members in regards to security information and procedures.
13. Prepare relevant finance and procurement documents related to above mentioned activities and keep the records of all expenses carried out by the team in relation to those.
14. Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION
• Secondary school diploma or Bachelor degree preferably in social science, law or communication
• At least of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian aid field for candidates holding a secondary school diploma. 3 years of experience for those holding a bachelor degree.
EXPERIENCE
• Background in project management or other relevant subject; knowledge and training in team management - or equivalent combination of education, training & experience;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
