Senior Assistant ? Entomology
ICRISAT seeks applications from dynamic Indian nationals as Senior Assistant ? Entomology. The position is a part of the Global Research Program ? Accelerated Crop Improvement and is based at Headquarters, Patancheru, Telangana, India.

Responsibilities:
Assist the scientific officer and research technician in data collection and field observations
Assist in field activities such as seed preparation, sowing, weeding, thinning, gap filling, selfing, etc.
Seed preparation for machine and manual planting and seed pocketing for cold storage
Assist in field harvest, threshing and maintenance of crop work area (CWA)
Assist in conducting Insect bioassays (Glasshouse and field)
Driving light motor vehicle and pickups to pick and drop temporary farm labors and staff
Perform other tasks that may be assigned
Requirement:
Bachelors degree in life sciences or any related field
3-5 years of relevant experience in similar field will be an added advantage
Labor management skill is preferred
Should be a good team player and adaptable to working in multicultural team
Good knowledge in both written/spoken English and possess good knowledge in the terminology related to
General:
This is a contractual role for a period of 36 months (3 years) renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and funding availability, and the Institute's continuing need for the position.
