UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, has an exciting opportunity for an intern to join the Private Sector Partnerships team in the UNHCR offices in Paris, France.

Established in December 1950, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is responsible for leading and coordinating international action to protect and assist refugees and other people of concern. The partnerships with the private sector and the mobilization of individuals’ generosity play a crucial role in contributing to diversify the organization's sources of funding.
The Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) Services works in different regions: Europe, MENA, Americas, Africa, and Asia, and further decentralizes at local levels. The Fundraising and Communication Intern is part of PSP France team (which is part of PSP Europe Region) and it is based in the UNHCR Office located in Paris.
Since 2013, UNHCR has been mobilizing the private sector in France, creating partnerships with companies and foundations and engaging individual donors. As part of its fundraising activities, the PSP department is looking for a Donor Relation and Data Intern.
The position:
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive intern, with a strong interest in fundraising and refugee issues, to complete a six to eight-months internship within UNHCR’s Individual Giving (IG) team.
The main purpose of this position is to offer Interns an opportunity to gain a hands-on experience in their field of study or their career perspective, along with providing a valuable support to the office section.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of this Internship are dependent on the team’s priorities over the course of the internship and may include:
Donor Relationship and Stewardship:
• Support managing day to day Donor Care responding to donors' and supporters' correspondence across phone and email;
• Assisting routine communication with supporters, including e-mails, thank you letters, tax receipts;
• Supporting the colleagues in processing offline donations (such as via cheque or phone);
• Input and maintain accurate data on CRM;
• Support in daily communication with donors and supporters, as well as follow-up & monitoring of reactivation and retention programs;
• Liaise with PSP team to develop and update answers to frequently asked questions and high quality donor communication content;
• Support for admin tasks and cross projects as needed.
CRM Data and Reporting:
• Help the Database team with data entry and tracking UNHCR France & Monaco contacts in Salesforce database;
• Help ensuring effective data management processes in order to maintain data integrity by cleaning routines and highlighting anomalies;
• Update supporters’ details on a regular basis;
• Update and follow up on fundraising campaign performances;
• Provide support on reporting to PSP France team;
• Supporting the development of guidelines and procedures to ensure effective use of Salesforce and fundraising platforms.
Essential minimum qualifications and skills required:
The ideal candidate will be required to have followings:
• Be a recent graduate (completed your studies within two years of applying to this internship) or current student in graduate/undergraduate school program for a university or higher education facility accredited by UNESCO in the areas of business administration, data science, marketing or related field;
• Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest of the work of the Organization;
• Have good writing skills and oral fluency in French and a working level in English;
• Excellent computer skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and interest in data management and platforms;
• Capable of initiatives and autonomy, you show rigor and organization;
• Know how to work with emergencies and have sense of priorities; capacity of reporting;
• Have a strong interest in fundraising activities with the private sector and public engagement, and willingness to support UNHCR and to stand with refugees;
• Available for a duration of 6 months.
Location:
The successful candidate will be based with the team in UNHCR’s office in Paris, France.
Conditions:
The internship is associated with an internship agreement for an initial 6 months with a possibility of extension up to maximum 8 months. It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). This is a paid internship as per UNHCR policy.
