The Opportunity
Save the Children Europe is currently recruiting an exciting DEVCO/NEAR EU Donor Relations trainee for a 12-month contract, consisting of 6-months in the Brussels office, and 6-months in a relevant field office.
We aim to provide trainees with an opportunity to gain experience in a leading international NGO, learn more about DEVCO & NEAR fundraising, and obtain skills in donor information management, contract monitoring and rules/regulations of DEVCO & NEAR.
In Brussels: Provide support as per key areas of responsibility to the EU Donor Relations Team. The team’s goal is to ensure that Save the Children capitalises on donor funding opportunities that are consistent with our strategic and thematic priorities; and to ensure Save the Children engages in efforts to inform and influence donor policies and investment priorities, as appropriate.
In the field (tbc): The specific country or region for this part of the posting will be decided during the first half of the traineeship and will be based on specific capacity needs and on the performance of the trainee during the first part of the traineeship.
The goal for this part of the traineeship is to give the trainee experience working in the field, and to strengthen the Country or Regional Offices’ work with DEVCO & NEAR.
We aim to provide the trainee with an opportunity to learn how to work with DEVCO & NEAR in more practical terms, which includes the whole project cycle from engagement and proposal writing to implementation and reporting.
