The Program for HIV and AIDS under the Health System and Population Studies Division at icddr,b provides good quality HIV prevention services to key populations at risk of HIV infection since 2010. This has been made possible by working with the Government of Bangladesh (GoB), donors, NGOs and CBOs. Recently, the Program for HIV and AIDS has taken several initiatives to provide biomedical prevention services to the KPs.
Key responsibilities:
The Data Management Officer will report to the Senior Manager, M & E, HIV & AIDS, HSPSD and will be responsible for the following activities within the guidelines of the research protocol and organizational values. She/he will also be involved in –
Design data entry screen by EPI Info and clean data by Excel; Analyze data by STATA and SPSS and tabulations of the study results from STATA and SPSS outputs; Prepare graphs/slides for reports and presentations; Check data for errors in consultation with field staff; Add data into the database; Generate SPSS and STATA data files and send to the concerned supervisor; Escalate issues/discrepancies to the supervisor to retrieve data and provide cleaned versions to PIs and other team members; Backup database regularly in external drive/computers; Maintain and update the list of data files and research documents of both hard and soft copies; Check internal and external validity of data and ensure data completeness and correctness; Assist supervisor in writing report and manuscript based on quantitative data; Work with the supervisor in advanced statistical techniques such as power analysis, mixed effect/fixed effect/random effect models, cluster analysis, quantile regression, factor analysis, structural equation modelling (SEM), etc. Overall people management; guide and train people to perform as expected.Required qualification and experience:
Master in Statistics/Applied Statistics. Minimum 3 years of experience in data management and analysis domain; Proficiency in MS-Office and Bangla typing is must (Bijoy). Experience in preparing and publishing manuscripts with quantitative data would be considered as an asset. Willing to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Location: Dhaka
