The TeamCommunications staff contribute to advocacy efforts, raise awareness of the issues the foundation addresses, build and grow the foundation’s brand, engage with media, work to protect and advance the foundation’s reputation, and oversee all internal and external communications functions.

Your Role
As Communications Officer (CO) for Content & Campaigns for the foundation in India the incumbent will be responsible for developing thematic content relevant to the foundation’s programmatic work in India and designing related campaigns to help build the foundation’s brand in line with our global image. The results that we seek is high familiarity with the foundation’s work – what we do, how we do it, our approach to partnerships with government, communities, philanthropists etc. – and trust in our brand to help advance progress on the issues the foundation works on in line with our in-country goals.
The role requires a person who will be responsible for identifying stories of impact and developing and implementing compelling content strategies that drive engagement and brand awareness. This role requires a strategic problem solver with a strong creative flair and understanding of the methods and techniques in media production and communication. The ideal candidate should have a strong background with an eye on impactful storytelling and managing the end-to-end production process from concept development to final delivery.
This role will report to Deputy Director, Program Advocacy and Communications, External Communications, and Philanthropic Partnerships, India Country Office.
What You’ll Do
Content Strategy and Planning:
Ideate, plan, develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy aligned with program goals & brand objectives of the foundation.
Lead on content and story generation from India and from the region based on audience insights, programmatic impact, stories from the field, and industry practices such that it highlights progress in key sectors, the roles of different partners including the foundation and strengthens our brand and reputation in the market.
Create content calendars and schedules, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with overarching programmatic objectives.
Identify and prioritize content opportunities.
Develop campaign briefs and messaging frameworks that resonate with target audiences, including government, philanthropists, partners, and drive desired actions.
Lead brainstorming sessions and creative meetings to generate new ideas and innovative content concepts.
Drive community engagement and foster brand trust through interactive and authentic brand storytelling
Collaborate with all program teams to plan and prioritize content initiatives to drive program impact. In particular, collaborate with the Gender team to work with partners and government to amplify program priorities with emphasis on women led development in the Indian context.
Integrate research into critical messaging and storytelling for the foundation's brand, while collaborating with gender program team to develop communication strategies that advance advocacy goals with a clear, consistent voice and content strategy.
Responsible for developing other collaterals and content for the foundation’s work in India and clear messaging of the gender program strategies and their impacts, to the relevant audiences.
Content Production and Coordination:
Lead the development of engaging and high-quality content including scripts across various platforms and formats (e.g., website, social media, email, video).
Oversee the production process from ideation to execution for various types of content (e.g. videos, podcasts etc.).
Knowledge of design principles and techniques to write compelling stories and produce commercial videos
Coordinate with internal and external partners, including writers, designers, and agencies (creative & production) to produce impactful brand content and ensure seamless execution of content projects.
Manage content budgets and resources effectively to improve efficiency and maintain quality standards.
Ensure all content produced meets brand guidelines, quality standards, and SEO standards.
Performance Analysis and Optimization:
Monitor and analyze content performance using relevant metrics and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media analytics).
Use data-driven insights to optimize content strategies and improve reach & engagement, along with other important metrics.
Set performance critical metrics for digital & brand activities and work with partners to achieve benchmarks. Regularly share reports on performance with local and global colleagues
Audience Engagement:
Implement strategies to increase audience engagement across digital platforms, including social media, websites, email, and other channels.
Foster community interaction through interactive content formats, discussions, and other engagement initiatives.
Build and nurture relationships with influencers, brand advocates, and key partners to amplify content reach and engagement.
Your Experience
Master's in business administration/mass communication/Journalism with a minimum of 5 years of experience in scripting, producing and directing content creation is preferred.
Experience in identifying, writing high quality impact stories, and producing high-quality content across various formats, including video, audio, written, and digital media.
Understanding of digital landscape and adapting content to maximize audience engagement
Strong background in managing the end-to-end production process, from concept development to final delivery.
Extensive experience in concept development, brand strategy, and creative execution.
Experience collaborating with creative teams, including writers, designers, videographers, and editors.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating creative ideas and strategies to partners.
Understanding of design principles, typography, visual storytelling, and user experience (UX) design.
Substantial exposure to issues (domestic and/or international), where significant discretion and judgment should be exercised.
Enthusiasm for, and commitment to, the foundation's mission, issues, and ideas.
Ability to travel across India and internationally at least 20%.
Ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, and diplomacy both individually and as part of a complex team effort.
Strong analytical, writing, and verbal skills for communicating with a broad and diverse audience.
