About the Hiring Group The USD 34 million USAID-funded Energy Secure Philippines (ESP) Activity focuses on advancing inclusive economic growth and resilient development through increasing private investment to promote advanced technology deployment and boost the energy sector’s resilience to shocks and stresses. RTI International, the implementer of the USAID ESP Activity, is looking for a communications consultant who will be responsible for developing external and internal communications and ensuring that all communications are compliant with USAID branding and marking policies. The consultant will support initiatives that help tell the story of the need for and impact of ESP activities and USAID support from the American people. Level of Effort Anticipated level of effort is up to 60 days LOE covering the period of May to October 2025. The consultant is expected to be flexible and communicative with USAID ESP during this time. What You'll Do The consultant will perform the following tasks: Provide logistics and communications support at events and workshops Maintain list of vendors including but not limited to professional photography and videography as needed Develop press releases and announcements and write articles on project activities including technical notes, best practices and lessons learned, in addition to the project’s article contributions to USAID publications Ensure compliance with approved USAID branding and marking policies and review internally-produced communications Collaborate with USAID ESP staff and consultants, as needed, to collate and synthesize project-related technical information; transform and write them into language appropriate for lay audience Support the USAID ESP team in activity documentation through writing report summaries and data gathering by conducting desk research and community-based interviews if needed. What You'll Need Bachelor’s degree in Development Communication, Communications, Journalism, or other relevant studies Have a proven track record of writing content in a portfolio; work experience in the development sector is an advantage Experience in USAID-funded projects is an advantage Driven by deadlines and a willingness to communicate with clients and partners Proficient with computers, especially writing programs such as Google Docs and Microsoft Word Have access to basic IT equipment such as a laptop or desktop with internet access and installed Microsoft applications
