The Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD (TUAC) is an international trade union organisation representing the views of the labour movement to the OECD and its various committees. It has a permanent secretariat based in Paris led by a General Secretary, and is independently funded by national trade union confederations.

Job Description

The TUAC Secretariat is hiring a Communications Officer to reinforce the TUAC team in the area of communications. The selected person will report to the General Secretary of the TUAC.

Main Responsibilities

ManageTUAC communications including:

Social media management and growth

Create engaging content for, manage the development of, and build the number of visitors to, the TUAC website.Manage content for TUAC social media accounts (X, LinkedIn etc). Actively contribute to the refinement of growth strategies across these channels and regularly report performance analytics.

Multimedia content creation and research

Design video content for social media and the web to promote TUAC. Create new templates as necessary in line with the TUAC visual identity.

Communication support and content

Work with TUAC staff to plan TUAC communications and improve the quality and clarity of TUAC messaging. Write articles and blogs for TUAC and find suitable outlets for publication, including OECD blog sites.Explore options for creating more interest in TUAC’s engagement with OECD and G7 in trade union journals, blogs and other outlets, and among print and broadcast media.Ensure that written content aligns with TUAC’s visual identity.Manage other aspects of TUAC communications including the newsletter and visual identity.Oversee the communications work of the Administrative and Communications Assistant.Liaise with the OECD Directorate for Communications Participate in ONE COM communities of practice (web, newsletters, social media, impact analysis, stakeholder engagement, data visualisation) as appropriate.Liaise as necessary with communications staff of TUAC affiliates, the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and Global Union Federations.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Profile

Academic Background

Post-secondary education, preferably a university degree in communications, or a related discipline.

Professional Background

At least five years of experience in public affairs or in the communications field;Experience working in or closely with the trade union movement and knowledge of the policy issues that trade unions are dealing with would be an advantage.

Core Competencies

Languages

Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level.

Contract Duration

Salary Information

Please note that the appointment may be made at one grade lower in the specified job family, based on the qualifications and professional experience of the selected applicant.
