icddr,b invites applications for the position of Carpenter with Facilities Management under the Support Services. The appointment will be made on a Fixed-Term basis for 2 years, renewable depending on performance and the availability of funds.
Position Description:
The Carpenter will be be responsible for the layout, installation, repair, finishing, and maintenance of various furniture, fixtures, and fittings with the objective of smooth maintenance and facilities management within the guideline of Facilities management; and organizational values and guidelines (such as Institutional Governance Framework - IGF and Gender Diversity Guidelines).

Job Profile
Maintenance and Facilities Management: Plan, track, coordinate and conduct preventive maintenance of equipment; respond to breakdowns in facilities and resolve them as per SLAs for smooth maintenance and facilities management with in timeline; Project Supervision: Work with the project & maintenance teams; Co-work with the Civil Engineering Unit to develop blue-prints / master-plans for projects; Coordinate with the awarded vendors so that projects are completed within stipulated time effectively and efficiently; Vendor Management: Co-work with the Assistant Engineer, Civil Engineering to identify vendor groups / categories for the year; Scan the market for potential new vendors; Invite applications from vendors through newspapers;Requirements:
Education and Relevant Experience :
SSC with relevant (Carpentry)Trade Course. 4 years of relevant experiences.Location: Dhaka.
Salary & benefits:
Annual Tk. 474,530 inclusive of house rent, conveyance, and other admissible benefits; 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen.
