How can you make a difference?

The Business Innovation and Support Section (BIS) of UNICEF`s Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) is at the forefront of embracing modern technologies and innovative trends to strengthen UNICEF's processes and services. Its primary objective is to drive innovation, including automation, data analytics, artificial intelligence to enable the GSSC to support UNICEF offices worldwide faster and more efficiently.

The BIS section is looking for a talent to work as an integral part of the Digital and Data Innovation Stream under the guidance of the Innovation Manager. The primary purpose of the internship is to actively contribute to promoting innovation, exploring new technologies and practices within the GSSC and the broader UNICEF system.

The intern will also have the opportunity to learn about UNICEF’s mission, its various programs, and how it operates globally. The selected candidate will be able to further develop analytical and transactional skills by participating in interesting projects as well as by supporting senior colleagues.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Current enrolment in a degree programme at the Bachelor (3rd year only), Master`s or postgraduate levels or recent graduate (up to 2 years) in Business Administration, Innovation Management, Engineering, Social Sciences, or any other relevant disciplines Strong analytical and organizational skills are required. The ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams is required. A proactive, innovative attitude, drive for results is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Familiarity with technology tools, data analysis, and digital platforms is desirable. Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required. Please enclose a motivation letter to your application explaining how your past academic and/or work experience prepared you for this internship with a focus on innovation. In addition, please indicate how you see this internship in innovation contributing to your professional growth.

Contract Duration and Terms

Applicants must be Hungarians, or nationals of EU (European Union) countries. Individuals must fund their travel and living expenses, must have proof of medical insurance covering their time at the duty station Internships are with various durations, normally between 3 and 6 months, depending on organizational needs and intern availability Internships are paid a monthly net stipend of HUF HUF 362,133 per month for full-time arrangements (40hrs/week), which will be prorated according to attendance. Work arrangements are based on the effective regulations of the duty station, organizational needs and schedules of the interns Appointments are also subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID). Full-time interns may take up to 2.5 days per month off work for any reason, including medical reasons. The stipend will be reduced for any absence beyond this quota. The intern must be physically present during the internship in Budapest.
