El Programa de Comunicación e Información, uno de los pilares fundamentales de la UNESCO, impulsa una amplia gama de acciones e iniciativas orientadas a la preservación de la memoria colectiva de los pueblos y a la conservación del patrimonio documental en todas sus formas. Estas acciones reflejan el firme compromiso de la Organización con la salvaguarda del conocimiento y la identidad cultural, especialmente en contextos de vulnerabilidad y crisis. Dicho trabajo se desarrolla en plena consonancia con el mandato de la UNESCO de promover el acceso universal a la información, fortalecer los sistemas de memoria del mundo y garantizar la transmisión del legado documental a las futuras generaciones.
El trabajo de la UNESCO en los ámbitos subrayados anteriormente, se ha vuelto más relevante, tomando en cuenta los retos que enfrenta la región en materia de protección del patrimonio documental. Por esta razón, la Oficina Regional de la UNESCO desea fortalecer su trabajo en Centroamérica por medio de la contratación de un consultor quien brindará una serie de talleres teórico-prácticos para fortalecer las capacidades de los funcionarios de las instituciones de primera respuesta.
Este taller da seguimiento a los resultados de la Conferencia Internacional: \"Explorando el Rol de Bomberos y del Personal de Primera Respuesta en el Rescate y la Protección del Patrimonio Documental en Tiempos de Crisis\", realizada el pasado 05 y 06 de diciembre, por lo cual busca fortalecer las capacidades para prevenir, responder y recuperar eficazmente el patrimonio documental en situaciones de emergencia o desastre en Guatemala, Panamá y República Dominicana mediante actividades prácticas y simulacros que repliquen escenarios reales de riesgo.
Bajo la guía y la directa supervisión de la UNESCO Sector de Comunicación e Información, la persona contratada para coordinar este proyecto estará a cargo de:

Grado técnico o universitario en disciplinas como Gestión de Recursos Naturales, Gestión del Riesgo, Patrimonio documental, Archivística, Bibliotecología, Ciencias de la Información y/o campos relacionados.

Excelente conocimiento escrito y oral del español, y muy buen conocimiento de inglés.
