Fondazione L'Albero della Vita (FADV) is a Third Sector organisation working in protection, migration, development, emergency and child protection.

FADV is made up of people all over the world who work with children and young people at risk of social exclusion and/or poverty, with care and protection needs, with the aim of ensuring that they, their families and the communities they belong to enjoy greater well-being, access to fundamental rights and paths to development.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an events officer, who will be responsible for the management and organization of two events related to two European Projects and will contribute to the execution of all planning and implementation phases of these events.

The person must be located in Brussels from November until February.

Responsibilities:

The resource will work as an external FADV consultant and will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate with FADV HQ in Milan to design the event agenda;
  • Identify and contact members of European institutions (including MEPs) and associations in Brussels to invite them to the event;
  • Assist with registrations, invitations, live online support, management of online meeting tools, dispatch, stand service;
  • Propose and organize activities, e.g. networking activities, social events, etc. complementary to the event program;
  • Provide on-site liaison and support, travelling when necessary;
  • Manage offers, room lists, sign/exhibitor orders, speakers;
  • Ensure that catering and technical equipment is provided, with quality standards;
  • Carry out necessary post-event surveys (if needed) and provide recommendations for future events;
  • Manage event budgets and ensure financial control and reporting.

Requirements:

The skills and experience required to successfully perform this job include:

  • At least two years of work experience in the field;
  • full command of English; other languages would be an advantage;
  • good knowledge of the European Commission environment in Brussels;
  • experience in organizing events, both in person and online;
  • strategic thinking and ability to solve problems creatively;
  • experience of working with multiple stakeholders on a transnational level;
  • good networking and interpersonal skills in an international environment;
  • excellent relationship management, coordinating and communication skills;
  • good ability to prioritise tasks when dealing with multiple deadlines and working to tight deadlines;
  • exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.

What we offer:

  • part-time commitment as a consultant (therefore compatible with other assignments)
  • 4-month assignment from November to February
  • salary depending on profile and experience between EUR 1,700 and EUR 2,000 gross per month
