Assistant Fundraising Performance and Data Analysis Officer (IICA1- UNOPS)

In response to the unprecedented global need for our support, it has become even more important for UNHCR to deliver life-saving assistance like shelter, food, and water, help safeguard fundamental human rights, and develop solutions that ensure people have a safe place to call home, that without the support and generosity of individual donors cannot be achieved. While we receive donations from corporates and institutions, Face-to-Face (F2F) fundraising remains one of the main fundraising channels for UNHCR to seek long-term sustainable funding from the general public.

F2F fundraising is one of the most widely used fundraising channels for non-profit organizations that involves inviting individuals to sign up as a monthly donor through F2F Fundraisers located in public areas such as shopping malls and events.

The Assistant Fundraising Performance and Data Analysis Officer will work within Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) Africa Unit, directly supporting F2F fundraising efforts and be based in the UNHCR Regional Office for Southern Africa (ROSA) in Pretoria, South Africa. The successful candidate will be required to work in collaboration with the internal stakeholder within PSP Units in South Africa, Kenya , Ghana as well as PSP headquarters in Copenhagen.

Duties and responsibilities:

Reporting to the PSP Officer (F2F), PSP Africa, the incumbent will assist in the following:

Reporting & Data Analysis

  • A set of regular detailed reports regarding activities, campaigns and results are generated. Received data is analyses, feedback on positive and negative trends is provided. Prepare and submit mandatory reports in internal platforms within deadlines.
  • Follow and analyse trends and KPI’s established by PSP
  • Prepare inputs for funding submissions, appeals, proposals and reports.
  • Support PSP Africa by performing a wide range of analysis to ensure the implementation

and tracking of work plans.

  • Assist in the gathering, interpretation and reporting of internal and external marketing, fundraising and financial information including databases, market trends and analytics.
  • Obtain from HQ and field offices any information necessary to carry out his/her responsibilities.
  • Build a framework that reports on successful transaction and provide a report on reason of failure on a monthly/ongoing basis.
  • Work on strategy with the fundraising team to improve the customer journey and debit success rate.
  • Develop a reporting system to ensure invoices are coded appropriately to respective campaigns, in order to have clear understanding of campaign performance.

Database Management

  • Ensure that a clean and comprehensive database with fully reconciled data and amounts is maintained. All data is processed within respective deadlines whilst quality remains. Efficient support and quality control is conducted to data processing - data collection and entry, maintaining donor’s house list and supportive databases.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of the donor database – maintain data entry, updates, coding, imports, exports, segmentations, and prepare contact lists. Controls the regularity, effectiveness and security of the pre- and post-processing of the data.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.

Monitoring and progress control:

  • Produce reports, newsletters, etc. for donors as required.
  • Prepare inputs for funding submissions, as appeals and reports.

Essential minimum qualifications and professional experience required:

  • The ideal candidate will be required to have:

A. Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in Database, Biostatistics, Economics or related field.

B. WorkExperience:

  • Minimum 1 year relevant experience with Undergraduate degree.
  • Experienced in using Business Intelligence solutions (reports, dashboards, scorecards)
  • using for example Excel.
  • Previous working experience with the UN and/or exposure to work in similar contexts is
  • considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience in database management desirable.

Languages:

  • Required: fluency in written and spoken English

Location

The successful candidate will be based in Pretoria, South Africa.

The position starts in October 2020 and it is a full-time role.
