Salary Range: $100,000-$135,000

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for strategic planning support and day-to-day working relationships with UN communicators in the Secretariat and various UN agencies.
  • Drives key initiatives (including Global Goals Week partnership community and global expansion, Communications Corps), and will guide communications and oversee work for UNF’s youth programs.
  • Analyzes, interprets, and conveys advice on UN communications requests for DC colleagues.
  • Develops relationships and strategies with the corporate community, including influencers and media to raise funds, build constituency and engage the private sector in SDG goal setting.
  • Develops plans, processes/systems, and communications initiatives to maximize UN engagement and partnership impact.
  • Works closely with UN Foundation media lead to coordinate media relations and opportunities with UN colleagues.
  • Serves as a liaison across the Foundation with a focus on UN relations and communications needs.
  • Draft and review agreements and maintain an understanding of all agreement terms and applicable flow-downs, consulting with UNF's finance/contracts team as needed.This is a hybrid (in office and remote) position.

    Required:
    • Master’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or International Affairs, and 2 years of communications and partnerships experience.
    • Experience to include: geopolitics and international development, including
      • communications strategies and tactics,
      • relationship-building and partner handling skills,
      • strategic thinking,
      • understanding stakeholder needs,
      • diplomacy, collaboration, and flexibility,
      • interpersonal skills, including exercising sound judgment,
      • political savvy in matters of protocol.
