Job Summary
The Information Technology Department Data & Economics Economic Modeling Services Section (ITDDEEM) is looking to fill a contractual position as an Advanced Quantitative Solutions Data Engineer. The primary responsibilities include providing Fund-wide services on AI, machine learning and big data analytics capabilities to understand and solve complex problems related to Fund’s business capabilities of surveillance, lending, and capacity development, and developing innovative solutions for emerging business needs through creation, implementation and deployment of data pipelines and data driven models, methods and algorithms by using big data technologies. This position also involves contributing to the development of sample applications, tutorials, presentations, and training material on the use of large-scale structured and unstructured data.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain efficient, adaptable, scalable, and reliable data pipelines to support continuing increases in data service demand. Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues
2. Identify, design and implement internal process improvements including re-designing data pipeline for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
3. Research and analyze complex unstructured and structured data sets, and combine different sources and types of data to meet business requirements
4. Create big data platforms and data integrations in databases, data warehouses and data lakes, working with various cloud and on-premises technologies
5. Build required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using Azure and SQL technologies
6. Work with stakeholders including data providers, business departments and engineer teams, and assist them with data-related technical issues
7. Contribute to the development of sample applications, tutorials, presentations and training material for big data and machine learning technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
Advanced degree in computer science, data science, statistic, mathematics and engineering or related field plus a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience; or a bachelor’s degree in in computer science, data science, statistic, mathematics and engineering or related field plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience is required.
Experience with ETL for large-scale, complex data sets
Knowledge of machine learning modeling
Advanced programming skills
This is a one-year contractual appointment. Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, pending incumbent's performance, budget availability, and continuous business need.
