Accountant (3 months contract)

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Accounts payable: 

Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment, matching documents and proof of receipt. Respond to vendor inquiries. Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies. Process cheque requisitions, matching invoices and obtaining signatures.

Treasury: 

Assist in timely and accurate preparation of bank deposits and corresponding cash receipts journal entries. Preparing timely and accurate bank reconciliations.

Employee expense processing: 

Assist with reviewing employee expense reports on Concur by reviewing invoices and appropriate documentation and approval. Ensure timely booking of expenses for reimbursement.

Audit: 

Support Finance team with annual external audit. Prepare assigned schedules and other documents as require


Qualifications (include but are not limited to):

Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business, and/or related fieldA minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in Finance and AccountingExperience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systemWorking knowledge and experience with Agresso financial system is preferredStrong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, particularly MS Excel.Power BI knowledge is an asset Proven experience and thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable general ledger systems and procedures, financial accounts, and corporate proceduresAbility to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines with accuracy and high level of attention to detailExcellent knowledge of accounting practices & proceduresStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solutions-oriented approach to challenges

This position salary range between $51,613 to $66,846  depending on skills and experience.
