“Over one year after the escalation of tensions between Russia and Ukraine, a total of 7.6 million Ukrainian refugees remain overseas and a further 5.1 million remain internally displaced in Ukraine. Currently, an estimated 17.6 million people within Ukraine require humanitarian assistance, including the need of food, water and medicines.
5,796,748 refugees have crossed the Polish border, 591,947 refugees have crossed the Moldavian border and 1,127,998 refugees the Romanian border.
This situation has led ACF France to open Country Offices, in Ukraine, Poland and Romania and ACF Spain in Moldova.
ACF has deployed a regional multi-sectorial strategy through direct implementation and partnership. Core activities are Food Security & Livelihood (canned and dry food distribution, hot meals, cash) and Mental Health & Care Practices (psychosocial support, PFA training, Baby Friendly Space, psychiatric referrals). Additionally, in Ukraine the strategy also includes WASH activities (rehabilitation/repair of centralized water and sanitation networks, minor repair of Collective/Transit Centers, emergency Water supply and hygiene kit distribution) as well as Health & Nutrition (primary health care structures support including provision of medicines and trainings).
In Ukraine ACF currently intervenes in the East (Dnipro, Kharkiv, Sumska and Zapporizhzhia), the West (Ivano Frankivsk and Chernivtsi) and is extending its coverage to the southern part of the country.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Country director, you will define the Food Security and Livehood strategy of the mission and supervise its implementation. You also will provide a technical support to the team.
More precisely, you will be responsible to the following missions:
You hold a master degree in agronomy, environmental sciences, biology or any other relevant discipline in Food, security & livehood and Emergency response Program
You have a minimum 5 years experience in FSL sector in the field of humanitarian cooperation in challenging context
You have an experience of team management with the ability to support and empower a large team.
You are proactive, creative and autonomous. You also are able to absorb important workload and work under pressure.
Knowledge of ACF internal process would be a plus!
You are fluent in english. Ukrainian and/or Russian) would be an asset.
This is an extremely challenging position, requiring strong adaptability and management skills. The main challenge will be to define the best modalities of intervention in a challenging context (huge needs spread on large area, ongoing armed conflict, electricity shortages). However, you will be work with great motivated team,within a \"nice\" working environment / living conditions despite the ongoing conflict.
