Role Purpose:

You will plan, coordinate, and supervise all assigned health projects in Syria and ensure their implementation within time, budget and quality.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the project implementation plan in cooperation with the Programs Director and the implementation team.
  • Submit the project plan to the Programs Director to be reviewed and approved.
  • Participate as required in project kick-off, close-out and review meetings.
  • Ensure documentation and follow up of action points in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the recruitment, screening, hiring, selection and performance management and evaluation of the project team members.
  • Supervise the implementation of projects and activities on a daily manner. This includes directing activities, avoiding mistakes, and receiving and submitting projects reports.
  • Prepare, develop and review the reports to be submitted to donors. These could include daily, weekly, quarterly, progress and final reports.
  • Lead the field team and follow up the implementation of activities with them.
  • Follow-up with other departments in relation to projects activities.
  • Prepare weekly implementation work plans and follow up the implementation with the field team.
  • Participate in the offers opening, and procurement committee to evaluate the competing bids, help choose the winning bid and complete necessary procurement for assigned projects.
  • Follow up on the project agreement conditions.
  • Assist in preparing project proposals based on the technical and humanitarian needs assessment conducted by the field and MEAL teams.
  • Be fully responsible for meeting donor targets and compliance requirements through activities, means of undertaking activities, and in all other documentations.
  • Ensure, with the finance department, that activities and expenses are regularly monitored and, as needed, action plans with follow-up are developed to correct any over- or under-spending in a timely manner.
  • Represent SEMA and the programs department and ensure effective participation in cluster meetings and workshops with partners, donors, and other parties.
  • Manage communications, reporting and relationship development with the related clusters.
  • Receive, update and monitor all health projects data.
  • Review, email, update and monitor all media production regarding health projects.
  • Monitor and update all assigned project’s indicators and ensure they meet agreed indicators in the project agreement.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of SEMA’s quality of work.
  • Promote and model a positive, professional and respectful office culture.
  • Any other duties assigned by line manager.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies:

  • A Bachelor degree in medicine or pharmacy or dentistry with at least 3 years of experience in a similar position and duties in NGOs or INGOs
  • Ability to take initiative and work without supervision.
  • People management skills that include diplomacy
  • Ability to work with diverse people, communities, and cultures, with an understanding of cultural awareness practices.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
