WaCA aspires to bring about a change in the dynamics of the MSF movement. Indeed, the association is supported by a large number of doctors and Médecins Sans Frontières humanitarian workers from West and Central Africa who wish to be heard, to contribute and above all to proactively assume responsibility for the organization’s humanitarian mission. The WaCA association reflects an identity as humanitarians, aspirations for MSF, a truly inclusive movement of people who share the values of humanity and empathy towards others. MSF WaCA seeks a: ENGAGEMENT AND OPERATIONAL ASSOCIATIVE DIRECTOR M/F

MISSIONS

The creation of the position of Director of Operational Associative Commitment is an integral part of the management team, working on a daily basis with the other directors of MSF WaCA and creating the necessary links with its members to carry out its operational activities.

The Director of Operational Community Engagement reports to the Managing Director of MSF WaCA, and works closely with the elected Board of Directors on important legal, fiduciary and accountability issues.

Activities

  • Construction of the Association's development strategy in close collaboration with WaCA's operational component
  • Strategic support to the WaCA Board of Directors
  • Co-construction, monitoring and framing of the development of associate members' initiatives in the WaCA zone, support of national association representatives.
  • In close collaboration with the WaCA Communication team, ensures that information on WaCA activities is disseminated to members on a regular basis.
  • Oversee the updating of the Associate Members database.
  • In collaboration with the rest of the management team, overseeing the organization of the Annual General Meeting and other WaCA events in the WaCA zone.
  • Construction and monitoring of the association's budget
  • Networking and coordination with institutional members of the MSF movement worldwide, close link with other MSF Associations in the WaCA region to create possible synergies.
  • Supervision of the MSF WaCA association team
  • Ex-officio member of the WaCA management team

JOB PROFILE

· Work Experience and Skills

o 5 years (minimum) experience in a senior management position within MSF.

o Recent significant experience in Operational and Associative positions at MSF.

o Strong commitment to the MSF Association required.

o Strong capacity to think outside the box and to make proposals.

o Great flexibility to work in a multi-sectoral environment.

o Great experience in managing multicultural teams.

o Great experience in budget management

o Understanding of MSF's governance structures at the movement level.

o Mastery of French and English. (Oral and written)

o High availability to travel to MSF WaCA countries, MSF missions and offices around the world.

· Language skills :

o Fluent French and English (level B2 for both languages)

· Aptitudes :

o Great vision

o Leadership.

o Ability to identify strategic priorities and find solutions.

o Sense of dialogue,

o Excellent interpersonal skills.

CONTRACTUAL TERMS:

Location/Workstation: Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire
