The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an international non-governmental organisation of Norwegian origin, present in more than 25 countries worldwide. NRC has been working in the Central African Republic since 2007. Its programmes focus on the sectors of Education, Protection from violence, Humanitarian Mediation, Shelter, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Livelihoods and Food Security and Information, Counselling, and Legal Assistance (ICLA) in favour of populations forced to move.

What you will do

The purpose of the Finance Manager is to ensure that the financial set-up is according to NRC's standards and to support programme/project implementation. Some of your roles and responsibilities will include:-

Leading preparations for and follow-up on audits. Providing input on operational support in proposal development and project implementation.  Facilitating the Master Support Budget and BPO (Budget Programme Overview) development Maintaining overall budget control and monitoring cash flows.  Generating monthly financial reports including BvAs (Budget versus Actual) and providing financial analysis with appropriate advice to the country management team and budget holders. Training line managers and staff with financial responsibilities and tools Supporting budget holders on the budgeting process and preparing donors' financial reports on due time. Leading and developing the finance team capacity in the country including training and development of local finance procedures. Coordinating weekly meetings between finance staff for information sharing. Conducting routine field visits to monitor compliance with internal control and financial systems. Implementing and following up on audit findings for the smooth running of the country Office Performing and following up on any other duties assigned by the line manager.

What you will bring

1. Professional competencies 

Minimum 3 years of experience working as a senior Financial Manager  Experience working in complex and volatile contexts. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile  Solid knowledge of computer software and modern accounting systems Fluency in French and working knowledge of English
