NRC is looking for an Area Programme Manager to join the Afghanistan mission. The role holder will be responsible for implementing integrated programmes and representing NRC at coordination forums. The Area Programme Manager will improve management capacities and programmatic quality in the Central & East Area Office. This position will line manage senior programme, effectively overseeing field implementation and leading on other programme development initiatives Member of the Area Management Group. He/she will ensure that NRC achieves its programmatic objectives.

What You Will Do

Area strategic plans programme components, and preparation. Area-specific input on thematic strategies, Country Strategy, and Annexes. Project implementation (master support budget and coordinating input for donor proposals and reports). Project cycle management (proposal development, budget management, reporting, etc.). Monitoring and evaluation commitments in the Area Office (facilitating evidence-based learning and decision-making). Line management of senior project staff and Area Office Monitoring & Evaluation staff. Staff capacity building, training, and support in accordance with capacity gaps and training needs.

What You Will Bring

Management experience in a humanitarian/recovery context. Cash-based interventions and market-based programmes knowledge. Complex, and volatile context exposure. Afghanistan context exposure and knowledge. English fluency, both written and verbal. Knowledge of the local language (Dari and Pashto).
