The USAID-funded Clean Cities Blue Ocean project in Peru, implemented by Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest for a Women in Circular Economy (WCE) Specialist. This position will be located in the Country office in Lima.

Position Description/Summary: The CCBO activity is a five-year initiative of USAID which will serve as USAID's flagship program to target ocean plastics directly at their source in cities and towns. The project works to prevent ocean plastic pollution by building capacity and commitment for Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling (3Rs) and solid waste management (SWM) in urban and peri-urban settings, particularly in riverine and coastal areas. CCBO works with multiple USAID missions on country-specific implementation of national and local activities, and with USAID/Washington on global-level activities.

The Women in Circular Economy (WCE) Specialist will assist the CCBO Peru team by providing a gender focus into designing, planning, and executing sustainable circular economy projects in Pisco (Ica), and Mancora and Paita (Piura). In July 2021, CCBO was selected by USAID’s office of Gender Equality and Women´s Empowerment (GenDev) and awarded $2,000,000 to support women in the waste management sector. $500,000 of the GenDev funding will support grants under Contract (GUC). In addition to managing the GenDev funds, the WCE Specialist will also serve as the gender advisor for the CCBO Peru Program, ensuring that all the activities incorporate a gender approach from inception, and through implementation.

Qualifications:

* University degree in economic sciences, engineering, business, social sciences or related subject area is required. Further certifications or courses in gender topics strongly preferred.

* Minimum of five years of experience in business development positions and/or project management. At least two years of which should be on gender-focused objectives.

* Experience in environmental and circular economy approach is desirable.

* Experience working with local or national-level government agencies is desirable.

* Familiarity with USAID policies and procedures preferred.

* Fluency in Spanish and English (reading and writing) required.

* Demonstrate integrity, enthusiasm to the job and a high level of initiative (proactive and independent).

*Knowing how to prioritize different assignments and tasks. Work effectively with minimum supervision and in high pressure situations.

*Good knowledge of circular economy, material flow analysis, and life cycle assessment.

* Able to travel to the field, when required.

* Only Peruvian citizens are eligible for this position.
