Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural disasters. MSF International is the legal entity that binds MSF’s 24 sections, 25 associations and other offices together. Registered in Switzerland, MSF International provides coordination, information and support to the MSF Movement, as well as implements international projects and initiatives as requested.


II. POSITION BACKGROUND

SPINCO (https://spinco.msf.org/) is the driver for effective collaboration across the MSF movement to deliver a central source of trusted product information that enables continuous process improvements.

For its development of solutions and services, SPINCO uses agile methodologies based on Scrum and Kanban.


III. PLACE IN THE ORGANISATION

This opening is for the Business Analyst position. This role is part of the SPINCO team and reports to the Release & Support Manager.

The SPINCO Business Analyst position will be part of Solutions and Services.


IV. OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION

As part of the SPINCO team, the Business Analyst will have the responsibility of the coordination of the activities related to improvements on the SPINCO Solutions or Projects.

The central solution is UniData, MSF’s central supply article database that details all items available for the field and shares article changes within the Movement. The online platforms of UniData and UniCat give an oversight on standard and non-standard articles available as resources for operations, in alignment with MSF guidelines and protocols. The UniData platform also covers UniQuality & UniLocal, the MSF Medical Product Qualification databases, and MSL Medical Standard Lists.

The Business Analyst is the focal point for all the different stakeholders of solutions, generally represented by a Product Owner. S/he will ensure that improvements have been identified, documented, exchanged with the developers and delivered in releases.

The Business Analyst reports to the Release & Support Manager.


V. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of the Business Analyst covers the solutions improvements/problems and covers the following responsibilities:

Identify the improvements /problems together with the SPINCO team Liaise and discuss with the requester, stakeholder or Product Owner to clarify the improvement/problemWrite the specifications for the improvements/problemsManage the Scrum or Kanban boards and backlogs Liaise and discuss with the developers on technical feasibility of the specificationsParticipate to daily or weekly standup meetings, scrum meetings and other related activitiesPropose improvements/problems following agile methodologyAct as scrum master during sprint cyclesDefine test plan for the improvement and test prior to releaseParticipate on the Release Notes and documentationFollow-up with the requester after the releaseRespond to and assist end usersDeliver support material to the end user (e-learning, knowledge base articles,…)
