Terms of ReferenceThis position aims to Support the Registration Unit in implementing monthly data quality checks into UNHCR's Population Registration and Identity Management Ecosystem (PRIMES) following up with Partners’ and UNHCR's staff the appropriate data correction and update. The data quality checks will be conducted mostly on excel and the use of R might be necessary. To report on the main findings, the incumbent needs to have an advanced level in data visualization as the use of PorwerBI might be necessary. The Senior Data Management Assistant will also support the UNHCR’s cash-based intervention unit in changing into direct implementation by supporting the identification of persons with specific needs in need of assistance. This position requires constant coordination with UNHCR partner organizations and the ability to deliver routine tasks within the established deadlines.

Skills:

- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in data management and systematization.
- Prior knowledge of UNHCR registration and identity management tools (PRIMES) is desirable.
- Experience in working with forcibly displaced and/or stateless persons.
- Advanced level of management of data management programs (particularly Excel and R).
- Advanced level in data visualization (PowerBI or others).
- Capacity to work independently on routine tasks.

It would be desirable if the candidate has studies in the fields of Economy, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, International Relations, Political Science or related fields.

Please note that this position is offered under a six-month Local Individual Contractor Agreement (LICA / UNOPS). Extension is subject to operational needs, budget and performance.

Standard Job Description Senior Data Management Assistant Organizational Setting and Work Relationships The position is normally supervised by a more senior staff member who provides the Senior Data Management Assistant with regular guidance and support. Subject to the nature of the task/assignment, s/he will work independently on routine tasks, while will follow instructions of the supervisor for more complex issues. The position has no supervisory role. Contacts are mainly with the colleagues in the same duty station to exchange information and to discuss the work plans. External contacts are not frequent. Duties - Enter data mainly related to asylum seekers, refugees and other persons of concern to UNHCR into the computer database. - Prepare reports and project documents by providing information, preparing tables and drafting routine correspondence and reports. - Assist in compilation of data and interpreting the statistics for various reports. - Assist in the development of forms for data collection and analysis, if requested. - Act as interpreter in the exchange of routine information and translate routine documents and correspondence as and when required. - May be required to collect GIS data, update maps and undertake field trips to project sites. - Decide on the data recorded in database. - Decide on appropriate resolution to incidents and escalate issues to the supervisor if incident cannot be resolved within the scope of responsibility. - Perform other related duties as required.
