General purpose of the position

The purpose of the role is to supervise and take responsibility for the overall management of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) reception center facility and support implement of related project activities in Ngala.

Tasks and Main Responsibilities

 Responsible for reception of new arrivals, including registration, allocation of space in the shelter

and organize the information dissemination sessions through IEC material.

 In collaboration with other sector partners assist in service provision, site planning, development

of facilities, shelter and WASH and other services

 Ensure that plans for project implementation are shared among partners and community

members to avoid issues, delays and confusion among stakeholder;

 Ensure that a crowd control system is in place during distribution and liaise with the service

provider for the organization of the activity.

 Support the Reception Center Officer in the organization of referrals to services operated by

Social Workers.

 Represent INTERSOS in meetings with partners and other stockholders as necessary.

 Ensure – through clear weekly and monthly work plans –field assessment activities are carried

out in a timely, effective and technically sound manner.

 Responsible for the overall management of the center and supervision of Social Workers.

Position Requirements

Professional requirements

 University degree in a related field (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, etc.)

 Minimum 3-years of relevant work experience in psychology, social work, counselling, etc.;

 Minimum 1-year of relevant experience with an INGO, NGOs and/or local authorities in Nigeria;.

 Knowledge of Hausa and Kanuri is an asset.

 Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with analytic approach.

 Ability to achieve results effectively, considering the need for speed, scale and quality.

 Ability to integrate and work well within multiethnic and multicultural teams

 Ability to work in austere and hostile environments.

 Availability to share accommodation facilities when required
