  1. Role and responsibilities

    The purpose of the logistics officer position is day to day implementation of logistics functions in Derna in an effective and accountable manner.

    Generic responsibilities (max 10)

    These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Development plan.

  2. Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines 
Implement delegated support function portfolio according to plan of action  Prepare and develop status reports as required by management  Ensure proper filing of documents  Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function

Specific responsibilities 

These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. 

This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.

In cooperation with the Logistics TL, apply procedures for logistics, procurement, transport management, and warehouse in accordance with NRC guidelines, policies and Code of Conduct. Identify, assess and manage suitable and reliable suppliers, vendors, providers and contractors of goods and services in support of programme implementation in accordance with NRC logistics Guidelines. Conduct procurement processes according to the needs of the programme accountably, transparently and with excellent communication to requesters and stakeholders. Maintain and update all procurement and logistics tools according to NRC Logistic Guidelines at all-time including Contract Tracker, Procurement Tracking Sheet, Vendors Database, Assets Tracker, Stock Report. Manage the vehicle fleet, including optimizing the use and supervising maintenance. Supervise the drivers. Ensure proper procurement procedures and file management implementation in accordance with NRC logistics Guidelines. 2 Supervise the logistics assistant and support them in day to day procurement, asset logging, facility and vehicle checks and maintenance.  Ensure that all NRC facilities in Derna are well maintained and safety equipment is in place and regularly checked. Ensure ICT equipment is in working order.  Manage the storage of NRC stock items in Derna safely and accountably in accordance with NRC guidelines.

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience: 

Experience of conducting competitive and accountable procurement  Degree or other relevant qualification in logistics or related subject  Document management experience  Experience of managing fleet, stock and assets  Good IT skills particularly use of email, Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience of Microsoft 365 is an advantage  Experience of supervising staff  Experience working with an international NGO is an advantage.
