Job-ID: V000055058 Location: Lusaka Assignment period: 07/10/2023 - 01/09/2024 Field: Trainees Type of employment: full-time Application deadline: 05/17/2023The programme “Promoting efficient and transparent local governance in Zambia” is funded by the Federal German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development to support Zambia’s decentralisation process. The programme partners at the national level with the Decentralisation Secretariat, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, the Local Government Association of Zambia, the Chalimbana Training Institute, and at the local level with the local governments in Southern Province and Luapula Province to: (1) support to the further conceptionalization of decentralisation, (2) strengthening the capacities of local governments in development processes, (3) improving citizen participation in local development processes, (4) improving local public service delivery and (5) enhancing offers for capacity building in local governance.
As part of your internship in the D4D programme, you will have the following tasks, among others:
Conduct research and analyse data/documents in the field of decentralisation (e.g. on policy reforms, best practices from other countries) Support the programme’s external communication, e.g. development, sourcing and distribution of information products such as factsheets, presentations and other publication materials, drafting of social media posts, photo documentation of workshops and events Support the organisation of workshops and capacity building events, including preparation of presentations and documentation Improve the projects knowledge management and partake in the monitoring and evaluation activities in cooperation with the M&E officer and the responsible team members Assist in the general day to day business and take on organisational tasks as requiredPlease be informed that you are only allowed to apply for this internship, if you are currently enrolled as a student or graduated not longer than six months ago from the start of your internship.
We pay a monthly stipend of €2.064,- (gross). Depending on the country of assignment a monthly expatriation allowance (gross), predetermined by GIZ will be paid on top.
