The Norwegian Refugee Council in Yemen is looking for an ambitious Head of Programme (HoP) to develop and lead the implementation of a high quality, holistic programme, in a country that is the world's largest humanitarian crisis. The HoP will lead programme strategy to a level that positions NRC as a leading responder to the crisis, with an additional focus on hard to reach areas and populations. The HoP also plays a key role in driving innovation and adoption of technology to enable us deliver better. This is a challenging, yet rewarding role that combines technical programme responsibilities, with leading and empowering a large programmes team.
Duties and responsibilities

Minimum first level university degree in relevant field
Minimum 4 years’ experience from a senior management position in a humanitarian/recovery context
Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Core competency expertise in one or more of the following: WASH, Education, Shelter, Camp Management, Livelihoods, Food Security, and Protection.
Self-awareness/knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
Knowledge of cash based interventions and market based programmes
Skills in project design and project cycle management. Familiarity with results-based approaches (Log Frame Analysis and Theory of Change) is a requirement.
Additional professional Certifications (e.g. Prince II and/or Project Manager) is an added advantage.
Mastery of Monitoring and Evaluation Essentials for managers. Familiarity with methods and tools for Continuous Quality Improvement and Data Quality Audits is a plus.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Arabic language abilities are a distinct advantage.
