Under the guidance of the Chief Private Partnerships the Head of Digital Engagement is responsible for implementing the engagement strategy for all the Digital Fundraising activities of UNRWA at global level, to ensure a solid growth in raising funds from individuals through digital channels and a further expansion of the UNRWA individual donor base, exploring new opportunities of development and ensuring the management of existing donors through appropriate donor’s journeys with a specific focus on the growing of regular donors programs and Islamic Giving opportunities. Leading the digital team and following a rigorous data driven approach, the incumbent is responsible for implementing marketing online strategies and analytics, as well as providing general advice on digital engagement trends and best practices. In particular, the Head of Digital Engagement is responsible for the creation and dissemination of donor-oriented contents, designing impactful fundraising and lead generation campaigns, in close collaboration with the Communication team. To start as soon as possible till the end of Dec. 2022, with a possible extension in 2023. Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent will:

• In close collaboration with the Chief of Private Partnerships, define the engagement strategy to increase UNRWA fundraising activities and revenues from digital channels worldwide, translating them into actionable plans to achieve the expected results;
• Monitor the implementation of the annual plan and manage the digital fundraising campaigns, ensuring objectives are met and define corrective actions when necessary, following a strong data driven approach;
• Lead and design, together with the reference people in his/her team and in close cooperation with the Communication team, the main fundraising and lead-generation campaigns to achieve digital fundraising objectives through social media and other digital channels, with a specific focus on Islamic giving, in a donor-centered perspective;
• Define the digital content strategy for fundraising and its dissemination on the main digital channels as well as the creation of adequate donors’ journey, based on a data driven approach;
• Ensure the optimization of digital channels and tools (CRO, SEM, SEO, engagement rates, etc.) to maximize digital resources mobilization from individual donors;
• Identify and propose new tools and apps to strengthen UNRWA’s digital engagement; develop and implement of innovative fundraising tools to engage new private donors and retain the existing ones, whit a specific focus on regular donors
• In close cooperation with the Digital Engagement Service Coordinator, define a specific set of KPIs to monitor results and propose new activities accordingly. Ensure campaign tracking and design reports accordingly;
• Define and monitor income and donor acquisition projections for all the digital channels;
• Define, manage and monitor Digital Unit’s budget and expenses to optimize resources.
• Manage the FR digital team;
• Under the guidance of Chief of PP, work with UNRWA National Commitees to ensure regular exchange of information, contents and best practices on digital fundraising, supporting them to develop their own digital fundraising strategy;
• Prepare presentations for the Division related to digital giving engagement;
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications:
• University Degree in communication, marketing, business administration, social sciences, international relations, or a related discipline.

Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of track record in developing and managing successful digital engagement and/or fundraising strategies
• Minimum of 2 continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA’s areas of operations and outside the country(s) of which the candidate is a national or holds citizenship, a passport or a national identity number.
• Strong vision in digital innovation and expertise about digital engagement
• High commitment to put his/her talent at the service of UNRWA mission
• Experience managing paid and owned marketing channels including social media, email marketing etc.
• Experience in developing engaging campaigns centered on donor engagement and acquisition
• Experience in people management
• Islamic Giving experience can be an asset, but it’s not a mandatory requirement

Language: • Fluent in English. Knowledge of Arabic can be an asset, but it’s not a mandatory requirement

Additional Information

• The remuneration for this consultancy is $6,300 (equivalent to P3 level).
• The consultant will be based in Amman/Jordan with the possibility to evaluate remote working
