Summary:

The Grants Manager is involved in donor reporting, Awards information management, and Awards management capacity-building efforts as well as supporting the coordination of new Program Development. The Grants Manager also supports programmatic and budgetary monitoring, Partnership, compliance with donors and internal RI rules and regulations. The Grants Manager will work closely with the in-country program teams and will report to RI's Deputy Country Director Programs (DCD/P).

Essential Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Grants & Compliance Management

Program Development

  • Maintain and update the Country Office PD pipeline tool in the Awards Matrix.
  • Facilitate the Go No Go process in Country Office, and liaise with Technical Assistance Department (TAD) to support the process with Regional Support Office (RSO) and Global Support Office (GSO).
  • Support the DCD/P in coordinating the proposal development process for the Country Office.
  • Support the DCD/P to maintain and update the Donor mapping tool with the support of the Program Development (PD) and TAD team.

Team Management and Employee Supervision

  • Closely follow up on the recruitment of Communication and Reporting staff within the Grants department, and support recruitment of other staff that have technical aspects to their functions, in cooperation with HR.
  • Manage the Communication and Reporting staff, including but not limited to employee relations, task delegation, capacity building, teamwork and collaboration, completion of performance evaluations in a comprehensive and timely manner for all staff; and leaves’ management. Issues faced in any of the above-mentioned tasks should be reported to the HR Department and all decisions taken should be in alignment with RI’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide clear guidance and regular feedback to staff under position holder’s supervision.
  • Plan and organize training and orientation activities in developing capacity for project staff.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for less experienced staff.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Master's degree in relevant field
  • At least 6 years of experience in relief or development programs, in the Grants and awards management areas, international experience is desired
  • Excellent oral and written reporting skills and demonstrated ability to write and edit reports under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to contribute to clear and concise reports and proposals and to meet required deadlines
  • Working knowledge of budget development and management
  • Experience conducting assessments, preferably using participatory approaches
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural setting
  • Competence with Windows, Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in unstable security environments
  • Previous experience working with international donors, including but not limited to USG, EU, U.N. agencies.
  • Fluent written and spoken English required, with very strong writing skills.
