The Finance Technical Officer will be in charge of managing daily finance activities in the Southern Iraq Area Office and ensuring the operation is compliant with NRC finance policies.

Generic responsibilities 

  1. Implement NRC’s systems and procedures at the Area Office level.
  2. Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, and donor requirements
  3. Promote and share ideas for technical improvement
  4. Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents 
  5. Support line manager in procedures and require support team training
  6. Day to day follow of finance implementation
  7. Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills  
  8. Prepare and submit reports and analysis 

    Specific responsibilities 

    • Responsible for managing the daily accounting activities at the Area office.
    • Ensure accounting and recording are in the line with NRC finance guidelines
    • Responsible for ensuring timely submission of the monthly forecast, and payroll.
    • Responsible for timely booking transactions in NRC accounting system using the correct budget codes
    • Responsible for the Audit process
    • Deliver training for non-finance staff at the Area office when require.
    • Ensure proper filing of all support documents in accordance with the Compliance country standard operations procedure.

      1. Professional competencies

      Generic Professional Competencies 

    • Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Finance Officer or above in a humanitarian/recovery context
  9. Experience working in INGOs is preferred,
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile Solid knowledge of computer software and modern accounting systemsFluency in English, both written and verbal. 

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience: 

University degree in accounting or equivalent.Knowledge of the context in (Southern Iraq)Good communication & interpersonal skills are requiredGood knowledge of the Iraqi Labor Law

Contract Duration: until 31st December 2023 - renewable based on funding and performance
