The purpose of the position is to support the implementation of all NRC Programs in the North-West. The Finance Assistant will work closely with all the finance team members to assist in the day-to-day implementation of financial responsibilities. He/she will work under the supervision of the Field Office Coordinator, who will provide him/her full support in the implementation of all relevant activities.

A - Generic Responsibilities 

Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines Implement delegated support function portfolio according to the plan of action Prepare and develop status reports as required by management Ensure proper filing of documents  Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function

B - Specific Responsibilities 

Ensures the day-to-day management of office treasury. Responsible for managing cheque payments.  Maintains up to date records, project accounts on the system to ensure that timely, accurate and appropriate information is available and reported. Preparation of payment vouchers for cash and cheques and ensure timely settlement of all undisputed invoices. Ensure the petty cash boxes are updated physically and also in Unit4 at all times. Ensures cheques are cashed timely from the bank for operational reasons. Ensures complete vouchers are properly scanned and filed on Finance filing tree under the supervision of the FO. Ensures vouchers with amounts 10,000USD and above are scanned and sent to Finance Coordinator to update the compliance checklist monthly. Assists the finance officer to perform cash and bank reconciliation and month-end closure procedures Ensures daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic cash count is done with the AM/FOC Assists Finance officer in tracking advances and ensures that clearance of advances is done timely. Ensures that all supporting documents are complete and accurate before the financial transaction is posted by the FO. Be the focal person between Country Office and Field office regarding funds transfer requests and other payments through bank and cash. Control and post financial transactions into aggressor in the absence of the FO Perform other duties as assigned.

C - Generic professional competencies:

Experience from working as a Finance Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts Good knowledge of the South-West and North-West region context Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities Excellent knowledge of English, pidgin and a working knowledge of French.

D - Context/ Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Attention to detail and accuracy  Good in oral and written English and/or French Good knowledge of the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon  Minimum of University degree in Finance, Economics and any other related course.

•     Duration of the contract: 12 months, renewable depending on the availability of funds
