The Accelerating Action for the Elimination of Child Labour in Supply Chains in Africa (ACCEL Africa) is a Dutch funded regional project implemented in six target countries (Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Mali, Egypt, Uganda, and Malawi). It aims at contributing to the elimination of child labour in all its forms and in particular the worst forms, in the selected value chains in target countries. In Egypt, ACCEL Africa Project focus on cotton supply chain. The project seeks to promote enhanced national legislation and policies, to address the basic needs and rights of children engaged or at risk of child labour while adopting combined integrated area based and value chain approaches, to cooperate with governments, social partners, local farmers, communities, industries, and international buyers to institutionalize innovative solutions that address child labour root causes.
