Support Systems Development: Undertake a comprehensive evaluation of current data collection, analysis, and presentation frameworks at UNRWA HQA and field, and develop enhanced mechanisms to swiftly identify potential infectious disease hazards, analyse data for decision making and improve data visualization 2. Outbreak Investigation: support the investigation and response to infectious disease outbreaks, identifying the source and contributing factors, and implementing measures to control and prevent further spread. 5. Risk Assessment: Evaluate the risks associated with specific health conditions, behaviors, or exposures in populations (related to infectious diseases) to inform public health strategies and interventions. In addition to the default competencies, the successful candidate should have the following experience and qualifications for the consultancy: 1. An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in fields such as epidemiology, public health, international health, or other relevant fields of study from a recognized institution. 2. A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in the field of epidemiology, information management, quantitative methods, disease surveillance and/or control of outbreaks, with field experience in epidemics or public health emergencies at national and subnational level of which at least 2 years must be at an international level outside of the candidate home country and country of residence. 3. Proven ability to analyze data, prepare reports. 4. Excellent organizational and analytical skills combined with ability to multi-task and produce accurate results under pressure. 5. Excellent interpersonal skills, complemented with ability to synthesize information in a clear and concise manner. 6. Outstanding communication skills, with excellent command of spoken and written English. LanguagesFluency in English Arabic is an advantage Additional InformationDesirable: 1. Clinical experience as a health professional specifically relevant to infectious disease epidemiology. 2. Working experience with an international organization is desirable. 3. Working experience in the Middle East region. Especially, a comprehensive understanding of the Palestine refugee’s context at the global, regional, and country level is desired. 4. Knowledge of the UN system, or internal communications in large organizations. 5. In-service training in field epidemiology such as Field Epidemiology and or Laboratory Training (FELTP) 6.
