1. Role and responsibilities

The Driver is responsible for transporting NRC staff, visitors, documents, and goods/materials to designated destinations when officially approved within an area, country, or other location.

Generic responsibilities:

1. Transport NRC staff, visitors, documents, and goods/materials to designated destinations when officially approved.
2. Ensure the safety and security of the passengers, the goods, and the vehicle.
3. Immediately report accidents, breakdowns and needs of repair and general maintenance/service.
4. Always respect the local traffic regulations and the NRC logistical/vehicle policies.
5. Maintain the logbook for all trips.
6. Always maintain the vehicle in proper operating condition, including keeping the vehicle clean, ensuring enough fuel, checking the technical state etc.
7. In liaison with the line manager, arrange for repairs and servicing
8. Ensure the assigned vehicle has all the necessary documents and equipment.
9. Provide logistical support during trainings and workshops.

Specific responsibilities:

1. Driving the vehicle for delivery and collection of mails, documents, pouches, equipment and other administrative tasks upon the request of direct supervisor;
2. To provide support to program teams in loading, unloading and delivery humanitarian aids in the missions as required;

3. To accept flexible working hours, depending on mission requirements (overtime is reimbursed according to NRC regulations).
4. Provide clerical support to operational and programme activities.
5. Performing other duties as required.

Competencies:

1. Professional competencies

Generic professional competencies for this position:

 Valid driver’s license
 Experience from working as a Driver in a humanitarian/recovery context.
 Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
 Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
 Some knowledge of English 

Context-related skills, knowledge, and experience : 

 professional humanitarian-related certificates of the courses/training completion are appreciated. 

 the right to cross the border and driving experience abroad is appreciated.
