Position Summary:

Creative Associates seeks a Curricula & Professional Development Coordinator for an anticipated Task Order (TO) BRICC-EDU USAID Syria Education Project under the USAID's Building Resilient and Inclusive Communities in Conflict (BRICC) IDIQ contract. The TO aims to strengthen Syrian communities and foster stability by expanding access to education and vocational training and increase learning opportunities for out of school children and youth interested in returning to accredited or certified education opportunities that help them to transition to school or work.

The Curricula & Professional Development Coordinator is to be based in Amman, Jordan and will be responsible for providing technical leadership for all teacher education activities, including leading and coordinating the teacher education and systems support activities at all operational and service levels. The position requires experience with teacher training policy and practice, designing programs for data collection and analysis, and personnel management.

Reporting & Supervision:

The Curricula & Professional Development Coordinator will report directly to the DCOP.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead integrated working groups and steering committees in the following tasks:Identification of education priorities, assessment of education standards, review and strengthen instructional quality and teacher performance assessments, and strengthen instructional quality standards.
  • Remotely oversee field staff member's technical implementation of project activities.
  • Ensure technical coordination of national-level activities and obtain support from government authorities as needed.
  • Ensure the timely production, coordination, and reporting of all data: quarterly reports and M&E data.
  • Participate in regular meetings and maintain regular communication with government counterparts, and with other project technical staff to ensure coherent planning, M&E practices, and project troubleshooting.**Qualifications**

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10 years of related work experience, along with a Bachelor's Degree in International Development, Communications, Social Work, or other related field; or 5 years of related work experience with a Master's degree in Education, Public Policy or related field;
  • At least 8 years of experience in the education sector, with at least five years of a leadership role in a conflict or crisis-affected country context working to bolster foundational skills in literacy, numeracy or social-emotional learning.
  • Knowledge in data management, analysis and report writing; and
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Oral and written fluency in Arabic.
