Your responsibilities

Join our team as a CRAB Operator! You'll be instrumental in the development and operation of CRAB, a tool used by CMS physicists for data analysis on the distributed computing Grid. As part of our dynamic team, you'll receive training, collaborate with experts, and play a key role in maintaining and improving CRAB's codebase.

Your responsibilities will span code maintenance, defect resolution, code cleanup, and creating validated releases on GitHub. On the operational side, you'll deploy and ensure the smooth operation of services, troubleshooting and collaborating on problem-solving. The role also involves leveraging CERN's data analytics cluster for monitoring dashboards and exploring analytics using tools like Elastic Search, Kibana, Grafana, and Spark. Gain expertise in CRAB, its internal architecture, and HTCondor infrastructure while contributing to the largest worldwide condor pool. Your skills will be vital in high-throughput job execution across Grid, Cloud, and other resources.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.

You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Computer Science or Physics (or a related field) by the application deadline.

Your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.

You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before

Applicants without University degree are not eligible.

Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
