Short term consultancy
This position is a fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project requirements. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission for the country office designated. WRI is not able to sponsor work authorization for this position.
The New City Development Strategy Preparation Consultant will collaborate with the Addis Ababa City Administration (AACA) and the World Resources Institute (WRI) to steer and engage in producing a draft new city development strategy. The new city development strategy document is a high-level strategic document that indicates the path to Addis Ababa's urban future, taking into account factors such as changing macro and micro foundations of the city’s development, resilience, economic productivity, inclusivity, and low-carbon principles. The consultant will work closely with stakeholders through a series of engagements and collaborate with a working group to ensure the document's successful delivery.
Addis Ababa is one of the oldest and largest cities in Africa, facing challenges due to rapid population growth and urbanization. The City Administration's efforts to address these challenges require an evidence-based strategic plan and regulations to foster sustainable urban development.
