Tetra Tech International Development (www.tetratech.com/intdev) is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Chief of Party (COP) position on an anticipated USAID-funded program in Ethiopia. The Food and Agriculture System Transformation (FAST) Activity is a five-year USAID-funded program in Ethiopia that seeks to increase access to healthy diets, particularly for women and children, by improving competitiveness, inclusiveness, and resilience of the food and agriculture system. The position is full-time and is contingent upon contract award.

The COP will be the principal point of contact in Ethiopia for procedural and substantive matters. The COP will coordinate and ultimately be responsible for all contract management and implementation. They will be the primary liaison with USAID on technical matters and must adjust programs and operations in response to USAID’s technical direction. The COP will also be responsible for ensuring quality control and the overall responsiveness of technical assistance provided under the award.

The COP’s primary responsibilities are to provide overall leadership, management, and the general technical direction of the entire Activity, ensuring an integrated vision among different components and actors, and a focus on achieving activity results. This individual will be expected to identify issues and risks related to Activity implementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate adjustments. This is a five-year fixed-term appointment with benefits.

Position responsibilities: * Serves as the overall project manager and point of contact with USAID/Ethiopia Develops overall strategy and project activity design in accordance with the project objectives, and consultation with public and private sector partners Leads a large, multi-disciplinary team to produce deliverables on schedule, and build successful partnerships with stakeholders, counterparts and donors * Manages activity implementation, including overall responsibility for personnel and efficient budgeting and financial management
* Ensures compliance with USAID rules and regulations**

Required skills:
* Master’s degree or higher in nutrition, agriculture, economics, international development, or another relevant field
* At least twelve (12) years of experience working in progressively responsible management capacity for comparable agriculture, food security and nutrition, market systems and/or other relevant technical programming in Ethiopia and/or East Africa
* At least five (5) years in a senior level director- or manager-level position, leading complex, multi-million dollar programming in an international development project context. Previous experience as a Chief of Party for large USAID contracts preferred.
* Proven experience fostering collaborative learning and adaptive management, and integrating social inclusion with women, youth, and other vulnerable populations
* Proven track record managing and coordination collaboration among multi-disciplinary development program teams and stakeholders
*Fluency in English (written and spoken) required. Amharic language skills a plus.
