UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is seeking an Associate PSP Officer within the Global Operations Unit of the Division of External Relations’ (DER) Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) located in Copenhagen, Denmark.

PSP has been operating for over 10 years, working globally with different UNHCR regional and country offices and conducting a variety of activities to fulfil one simple primary purpose: maximize private sector funds while spreading awareness and advocating for a greater understanding of the refugee story, growing a global community in support of refugees and UNHCR.

Within PSP, the Global Operations Unit coordinates the annual planning process and consolidates, analyses and reports on performance across the fundraising network. The Global Operations Unit supports the PSP network of offices and National Partners, known as PSP operations, in monitoring implementation and the fundraising performance.

The Associate PSP Officer will assist with managing the PSP Digital Workplace, and preparing reports and communication materials.

The position:

The Global Operations Unit within PSP coordinates the annual planning process and consolidates, analyses and reports on performance across the fundraising network. The Global Operations Unit supports PSP operations in monitoring implementation and the fundraising performance; the team is also responsible for managing the National Growth Fund (NGF), the main source of investment in private sector fundraising programs. Furthermore, the Global Operations Unit is responsible for the development and maintenance of PSP’s Reporting Solution (including Web Apps, the Cube database and PowerBI reports), and it acts as the focal point of the PSP Digital Workplace.

Reporting to the Senior PSP Operations and Investment Officer, the Associate PSP Officer will support the team in (a) maintaining and managing the PSP Digital Workplace; (b) preparing reports, communication materials, and other documents; and (c) in facilitating collaboration and capacity-building activities with regards to the Unit’s core areas of responsibility.

Purpose and Scope:

Under the overall supervision of the Senior PSP Operations and Investment Officer, the Associate PSP Officer will:

• Assist the Global Operations Unit in its role as the PSP Digital Workplace (SharePoint) focal point, providing technical guidance and support to HQ units, PSP operations and National Partners, as well as other entities in DER, as required;
• Maintain and manage the SharePoint sites and communities that are coordinated by Global Operations, to ensure effective and efficient collaboration and coordination on key PSP processes, such as planning and reporting;
• Support the continued development of unit/team/National Partner platforms according to unit/user needs across the PSP network;
• Assist the Global Operations Unit in creating and drafting quality reports, plans, memorandums, presentations, news articles and other documents and materials as required, promoting internal and external communications within PSP and DER;
Provide support to ensure that the documents, resources and regular updates maintained by Global Operations are timely, accurate and accessible across the PSP network, as well as to other stakeholders;
• Support the PSP Global Operations team in enhancing and finalizing key guidance documents and SOPs, and assist in providing training sessions (both ad hoc and regularly scheduled) on the core areas of responsibility of the Unit;
• In combination with the rest of the team, promote collaboration and capacity-building within Global Operations, as well as the broader PSP network;
• Perform other related tasks and duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

University degree in one of the following: Social Science, Communications, or a related discipline.

Work Experience:

Minimum 3 years (or 2 for master’s degree holders) of previous relevant work experience in combination with the relevant university degree is required.

• Experience in a not-for-profit organization and/or exposure to and knowledge of the UN system, preferably with UNHCR, is preferred.
• Experience in reporting, communications and/or development/management of collaboration platforms is required.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required, second language preferred.
• Strong organisational skills.

Location

The successful candidate will be based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Conditions

This position is initially up to the end of the year with possibility of extension. It is a full-time role starting from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week).

This vacancy is open both for applicants residing in Denmark and for those residents of other countries. The remuneration level and the applicable entitlements and benefits may be different based on the residence of the most suitable selected candidate.
