Your responsibilities

As an agile coach you will join the Agile Practices section within the Business Computing group. Your mission will be to coach, mentor and train teams and business partners on lean-agile practices in software development.
We are looking for a person that is highly motivated and passionate about business agility to become part of our agile transformation program.

The group underwent an Agile transformation in 2019 and the first initial phase of this transformation process is now coming to an end. Following a restructuring and the installation of a new group management team, you will be part of a team of Agile Coaches tasked to support the group during the second transformation and Lean/Agile maturity improvement phase which will start at the beginning of 2024.

You will help growing the Agile maturity of all group internal actors (teams, designers, product managers, the group management team itself) and work with the external group stakeholders to increase their awareness, acceptance and embrace of the group's Agile ways of working. You will be aiming to deepen business agility fundamentals and lean portfolio management concepts within the group, leading to a healthier relationship between the group and its business partners.

In this position, your main functions will be:

Cooperate in driving the holistic agile transformation for the group and its business partners;Help the teams to better understand and tailor agile frameworks to their context;Design a strategy for improving the collaboration and flow of information between software development teams and their business stakeholders; Work with business partners to get them on-board with the groups current processes;Work with the Lean/Agile Community of Practice to increase the knowledge of Lean/Agile Practices, ensuring the organization is at the forefront of industry good practices;Promote an agile mindset and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement;Coach and facilitate agile workshops for product teams, business representatives and other stakeholders on Lean/Agile practices and tools; Train teams and individuals in agile techniques and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe...).

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

Essential skills and experience: Excellent communication, facilitation and organisational skills;Experience working with Scrum teams in a scaled Agile context; Fluency in English, written and spoken.Desired technical skills: Agile certifications ( e.g., Scrum Master, Leading SAFe);Design thinking skills;Experience with Product Management frameworks;Knowledge of scaled Agile frameworks and how to put them into practice.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.You have a professional background in Computer Science, Org. Psychology (or a related field) and have either: a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.

A monthly stipend ranging between 6194 and 6808 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).Coverage by CERN's comprehensive health scheme (for yourself, your spouse and children), and membership of the CERN Pension Fund.Depending on your individual circumstances: installation grant; family, child and infant allowances; payment of travel expenses at the beginning and end of contract.30 days of paid leave per year.On-the-job and formal training at CERN as well as in-house language courses for English and/or French.
