Advisor, Partnerships - GL D - 3 years Defined Duration

The Advisor, Partnerships plays a key role in the Global Fund, leveraging their leadership skills and diplomatic expertise to navigate complex landscapes in the global health ecosystem to help the Global Fund foster strong partnerships that help advance the organization's mission.

Under the guidance of the Chief of Staff, they collaborate with staff across departments to ensure the Global Fund engages strategically and in a coherent and coordinated manner with critical external partners. In addition to coordination, the Advisor, Partnerships provides strategic guidance, builds and strengthens relationships, and creates an environment that supports effective internal collaboration on partnerships. This is a highly matrixed role, that offers the opportunity to liaise across all parts of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the development and implementation of partnership strategies for a subset of partnerships (as supported via Chief of Staff Office and internal to the Global Fund), strategic engagement frameworks and Memorandums of Understanding (with partners), ensuring clear expectations and accountabilities.
  • Facilitates collaboration with appropriate stakeholders from across the Global Fund to contribute to and align internally on partnership strategies and engagement frameworks.
  • Engages with key stakeholders across the organization to cultivate and nurture political, cross-cutting and operational partnerships for a subset of partners, aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Serves as the central point of contact for a subset of cross-cutting partnerships, facilitating dialogue, strategic alignment and collaboration among different teams.
  • Supports implementation and monitoring of partnership agreements.
  • Establishes and maintains meaningful connections with key external partners, occasionally representing the organization as needed.
  • Effectively balances internal and external demands, recognizing the importance of internal alignment while leveraging external opportunities.
  • Operates effectively within a highly matrixed and complex environment, where partnership ownership is distributed across various divisions.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to the diverse needs and priorities of different stakeholder groups, fostering a collaborative and inclusive partnership approach.
  • Collaborates with HR and Finance on administrative coordination, internal controls, contract and resource management of partner funded workforce.
  • Contributes effectively and collaboratively to the leadership team in the Chief of Staff Office.
  • Manages a Partnerships Associate and collaborates with other team members to deliver on objectives.

    Qualifications

    Essential:

    Undergraduate university degree in business administration, international relations, communications or a related field, with 4 - 6 years of relevant (post-university) work experience; Or
