    About the Mission...

    Desired start date: 15/05/2023
    Duration of the mission: 6 months ( to be extended)
    Location: Dnipro – Ukraine

    The conflict in Ukraine has seen a dramatic and rapid escalation since 24th February 2022 with massive multidimensional attacks from Russian troops throughout Ukraine, from the East, North, and Southern borders that affected a large part of the country including the capital, Kyiv. This attack has been immediately followed by massive displacements, and more than 4 500 000 Ukrainians have taken refuge in neighboring countries. About 6 500 000 are internally displaced, mostly in the Western part of the country. In the East, impacts of the conflict are felt and humanitarian operations support people remaining on the frontlines.

    SI strategy is to support the population in transit, the IDPs where they are settling and the population on the frontline directly affected by the ongoing conflict through a multisectoral approach including WaSH, Shelter, NFI, Food activities.

    About the job

    General objectives

  • Contributes to the centralization and harmonization of MEAL tools and processes on the mission
Provides a methodological support to all program teams on technical questions linked to MEAL and cross-cutting issues such as: design of M&E plan, quantitative and qualitative data collection, measure of indicators, complaint response mechanism, do no harm analysis etc. In collaboration with the MEAL / Program / Technical Coordinator, looks over the quality and relevance of internal monitoring and evaluation activities, recommendations and analysis produced by his/her department (studies, maps…) Provides support training of program teams within his/her fields of expertise Contributes to institutional knowledge building and improvement of MEAL methods and techniques National staff often well skilled but lack of experience of working in the humanitarian sector. Recruitment is challenging

Priorities of the 2-3 first months

Continue to scale up MEAL department for Dnipro base. Provide training to program team including partner.

Your profile

Education: Generalist background, no specific request on diploma, Bachelor minimum

Experience: At least an experience at the same position is required

Technical skills and knowledge:

Registration and Distribution processes, Knowledge of Meal tools and methodologies/approaches

Languages: English, knowledge of Ukrainian / Russian would be a strong asset.

Other desirable qualities: leadership and management / planning and prioritization / flexibility / capacity to work under stress / solution making oriented / Team player

SI will offer you

A salaried post:
According to experience, starting from 1 800 euros gross per month (+ 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem.

SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL also covers accommodation costs in the Guest House and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.

Vacation: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with 700 euros allocated by SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL). To these break periods, one additional rest day per month worked are granted.

Social and medical cover:
Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which reimburses all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.
