Temporary Warehouse Assistant

Overview To monitor the consumable purchase and monitor and attribute to correct programs/ scientists.

Duties and responsibilities

Tracking the purchase orders and delivery of supplies in coordination with the procurement team and requestors to help ensure timely procurement and delivery of supplies for Systematic organization of supplies and materials stored in the warehouses located at Kiboko Research Station.
Coordinate with the Research Station Manager and Storekeepers for cross-checking of all the deliveries that are made to the station & ensure all data related to goods received and goods withdrawn is duly captured in the existing system.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the warehouse management system to improve efficiency and accountability by proposing ideas and implementing those that are duly approved & assist the warehouse staff in sorting and placing materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
Conduct regular checks related to requisition, receipt, stacking, and dispatch of goods and supplies and submit a weekly report to the supervisor, highlighting any areas of possible concern and assist warehouse staff in conducting physical inventories on a regular rotating basis to ensure accuracy of inventory records.
Assist the FAW team with the inoculations and ongoing experiments in the screenhouse.
Any other task assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

At least a Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years’ experience.
Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Terms and conditions • This is a Locally Recruited position. CIFOR-ICRAF offers competitive remuneration in local currency commensurate with skills and experience.
• This is a temporary hire for a period of four (4) months.
• The duty station will be in Nairobi, Kenya CIFOR-ICRAF Offices.
