The Maternal and Child Health Division of icddr,b offers the position of Senior Research Assistant for individuals who are interested in developing a career in public health research and are currently in the formative stage. The Senior Research Assistant will work under the direct supervision of eminent public health researchers and receive hands-on training, exposure, experience at icddr,b.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Research Assistant will be directly involved in the data management activities, and prepare analytical tables, graphs, and presentations. The Senior Research Assistant will be reporting to the Principal Investigator. Some of the specific responsibilities may include:
Conduct literature review; Organize and plan routine statistical data processing; Apply advanced statistical methods which include Regression/prediction/survival analysis, trend test, simple/logistic/multivariable regression, linear /mixed models, and structural equation modeling, risk factor etc, to carry out appropriate statistical analysis in relation to randomized control trials, epidemiological studies, longitudinal cohort studies, cross-sectional studies etc. Perform statistical quality checks on quantitative data, process and analyze the data and propose estimate recommendations. Design to ensure data validity and reliability; Ability to clarify operational definitions of the analysis variables and statistical analysis results. Organize review meetings in order to maintain a perfect data-flow system.Required qualification and experience:

Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Statistics/Applied Statistics/Biostatistics from a reputed institute with excellent academic records; 3 years of experience in relevant fields; However, it may be relax upto 1 year for the candidates who have excellent scientific track; Strong interpersonal and excellent communication and writing skills in English; Must have strong critical thinking skills, ability to identify substantive problems and creative capacity to resolve these problems. Contract Type and Duration:
Short Term Contractual Service Agreement basis; duration will be 5 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.Salary & benefits:
Tk. 45,593/-(consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances. Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and Daycare facilities are subject to space availability.Notes of attention:
