POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title: Program Management Intern

Location: Country Office, Abuja

Supervisor: Director Program Operations and Technical Director CDC_SPEED Project

Basic Function:

A total of two (2) Program Management Interns is proposed. While one reports to the Technical Director, SPEED project and Director, Program Operations to provide programmatic and operational support across FHI 360 Nigeria projects and departments including the CDC_SPEED Project. They will support planning, tracking implementation and budget for program and projects and platform operations with support from Directors Program Operations an SPEED Project respectively.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist Director, Program Operations and Technical Director CDC_SPEED project maintain program monitoring checklists and budget tracking tools to effectively supervise deliverables and burn rate of project activities based on approved workplan
  • Review, collate and submit routine (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly) progress reports from sub teams
  • Facilitate filing of accurate documentation and maintain a database of all progress reports, internal and external meetings etc.
  • Assist both Directors to tracking project implementation and coordination, including work plan development, activity scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of monitoring dashboards for tracking budget pipeline and labour report across projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, proposals, and other program-related documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support with meeting coordination, note taking, communication with teams

    Knowledge, skills and abilities:

    • understanding of project management principles, including planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
    • Good organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and any other Nigeria language
    • Proficiency in using project management tools and software.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with partners and stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high volumes of work with minimal supervision
    • Well-developed computer skills
    • Ability to travel within Nigeria 10% time.

      Qualifications and Requirements:

      • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, such as international development, social sciences, or a related discipline.
      • Proven experience (1 year) in program management or project coordination, preferably within the development sector.
