• Coordinate the formulation of e Private Sector Partnership strategy for Bangladesh and identify tools to meet the goals;
  • Create the Private Sector Partnership action plan and target for 2021-2023;
  • Develop a robust pipeline comprising of concrete partners for 2021-2023 and maintain a database for new partners in all projects;
  • Facilitate negations with key private sector companies for legal and operational compliance including MOU, CSA, payment structure;
  • Provide technical guidance and advise to Cluster Leads and Project Managers as required;
  • Provide inputs and oversee the partner risk assessment standards for due diligence to manage risk related to new partnerships;
  • Develop Private Sector SDG Action Plans for the UNDP Projects that engage / will engage with private sector partnerships;
  • With support of communication team, identify key bankable projects and develop the pitching materials to support the partnership/project teams;
  • Identify strategic events and speaking opportunities for CO Management, team leads and project managers to position UNDP as the preferred partner for Private Sector;
  • Provide strategic support to the management in coordination, briefing material, advocacy of major events with private sector and on SDG financing, visits from HQ and other high-level meetings;
  • Lead business model development for plastic circular economy under the CO partnership with Unilever and identify a scale path for the partnership;
  • Work in close consultation with Regional Partnership focal point and BERA focal point to be fully updated about new partnership pathways at the global/regional level;
  • Provide the CO with new approaches to SDG Financing, especially through UNDP’s flagship initiative on Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF);
  • Work with Cluster Leads and flagship Project Managers to support/unlock new SDG financing opportunities;
  • Coordinate and act as a focal point for regional partnerships established by SDG Financing, Business and Human Rights, SDG Impact, Business Call to Action and other relevant initiatives as they arise;
  • Identify new innovative financing mechanisms and tools in line with evolving ecosystem including but not limited to SDG Investor Mapping and Integrated National Financing Frameworks;
  • Scout SDG financing tools in the market and integrate them in UNDP SDG financing flagship projects to accelerate ecosystem transformation;
  • Coordinate, act as a focal point for partnerships with private sector impact management standard settings bodies and investors networks and mapping;
  • Coordinate/facilitate CO thought-leadership efforts in supporting a business conducive transition to the New Normal, including but not limited to supporting the COVID-19 Recovery Private Sector Platform established by the CO;
  • Identify new innovative financing mechanisms and tools in line with evolving ecosystem for New Normal Business Models;
  • Support scale up and business model sustainability of the digital transport platform set up by the CO as private sector COVID-19 response to support SME access to supply chains;
  • Act as a focal point to identify strategic collaboration opportunities with other UN agencies, business associations, public and private companies and SMEs, especially but not limited to sustainable enterprises and green growth as defined in the UN framework for the immediate socio-economic response to COVID-19;
  • Masters or equivalent degree in Business, Economics or related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience working with private sector, public-private partnerships, or private sector engagement through development partners  
  • Thorough understanding of Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) principles and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategies, and emerging market experience  
  • Previous experience and understanding of the UN and its back end/ organizational structure for private sector engagement  
  • Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
