UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering an internship role within the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) Services in our Office in The Hague, The Netherlands.

Established in December 1950, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect and assist refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people. UNHCR works in over 135 countries to protect and care for over 84 million people.

UNHCR has traditionally been funded by voluntary contributions from member states. In addition, due to the enormous growth in the number of people fleeing, fundraising in the private sector has become increasingly important. For the coming years, UNHCR's ambition is to grow from $1 billion to $2 billion in private donations worldwide.

The Private Partnerships & Philanthropy team consists of seven people and is responsible for strategic partnerships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, funds and corporations, as well as income from bequests. Both the team and income from donations have grown significantly in recent years.
The PPH team is looking for a driven and pro-active intern who can contribute to the team’s outreach and cultivation efforts and provides ample learning opportunities for an individual aiming to gain experience in fundraising and partnership building.

This is a broad internship where you can discover well where your strength and interests lie. You participate as a valuable team member and contribute to creating new opportunities for people forced to flee.
