The duty SOC Operator is the primary point of contact for emergencies for UN staff and support UNDSS managers during her/his shift of duty.
Under the overall guidance of the UNDSS Security Advisor and the direct supervision of the UNDSS Deputy Security Adviser, the Security Operation Center Operator will manage and operate the SOC on 8 hrs daytime shifts.
The SOC Operator must be familiar with the UN Security SOPs, directives, communication procedures and ensure that the Radio Room section of SOC is fully functional. SOC Operator is to maintain up to date database of agencies staff Warden lists, national LEA’s and emergency responses services, international organizations and diplomatic community.
The SOC Operator must demonstrate high level of verbal communication skills, in-depth knowledge of modern communication and IT technologies like: mobile smart 4G telephony, satellite telephony, GPS technology, HF and VHF radio communication, internet, social media and digital maps. She/he is to display basic knowledge topography and map reading. The SOC Operator is be client-oriented personality displaying high sense of responsibility, courtesy, allegiance to UN core values and the ability to work in the international multilanguage environment.

Education:
MANDATORY REQUIREMENT - Secondary education. University degree as an asset.
Experience:
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS - Minimum two years of experience in relevant field, preferably in UN or international organizations, diplomatic missions, police or army.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENT - Solid computer skills, experience in working with mass media source, situational awareness.
Language Requirements:
Excellent command of spoken and written English, Russian and Tajik languages.
